Rocha faces McCray at UFC 122
The UFC welterweight category will have another Brazilian among its fighters. This is Carlos Eduardo Rocha, a 29-year-old from Ceará who is undefeated in MMA with eight wins on his record. Rocha will debut on November 13th against American Kris McCray at UFC-122, which will be held in the city of Oberhausen, Germany. The fight is scheduled for the preliminary card of the event.
Nicknamed “Tá Danado”, the athlete won seven of his victories by submission. Rocha began his professional career in 2008 at the Free Fight Association (FFA), a European MMA event, where he defeated German Johannes Kunze via submission (rear-naked choke) in his debut. In his last fight, the Brazilian beat Fatih Balci, also by submission (arm triangle), at the German MMA Championship, held on May 29th this year. McCray participated in the 11th edition of the UFC reality show, “The Ultimate Fighter”, as part of the team led by Tito Ortiz. UFC 122 will still have another Brazilian in action. In the main fight of the event, Vitor belfort will face the Japanese Yushin Okami in the middleweight category. The winner of this confrontation will be the next challenger for the category title, which, at the moment, is in the hands of the also Brazilian Anderson Silva.
