“The Harris family would like to inform Dada's friends and fans that he is well, resting comfortably in the hospital under the care of an incredible team of doctors and nurses. Doctors informed us that Dada had accumulated extreme levels of potassium in his blood, which led to severe dehydration, fatigue and kidney failure. The accumulation of potassium was due to the loss of 40 pounds – around 18,2kg – in preparation for the fight.

We thank the doctors and the hospital. Dada is now recovering well.

Dada showed he had the heart of a lion in the fight, never giving up. He worked hard for the fight and faced a very tough veteran for three rounds. He faced adversity and left everything in the cage in the name of his fans and supporters. No one can take that away from him.
