Ronda Rousey suffered a lot of criticism after his surprising defeat to Holly holm, in November last year, but another sports star reached out to the former UFC champion. Kobe Bryant, who is participating in the NBA All-Star Game this weekend in Toronto, revealed that he contacted the fighter to express his solidarity.
“I sent her several messages, so yes, we are in contact. That's what things are about. It's not how you win. Being a true champion is how you lose and come back from it,” Bryant said.

Kobe, who will retire from basketball at the end of this NBA season as one of the greatest players in the league's history, told Ronda that losing is part of the sport and that the important thing would be for the fighter to 'get up'.
“I think the true mark of a champion is how you get up from there. If Ronda made it to the end of her career undefeated, she would become that mythical figure that no one can identify with. She caught it. We all get beaten up at one time or another in our lives. Now what counts is how she will recover. That’s what makes her a true champion,” added Bryant.
