Eight months after suffering the only defeat of his career so far, Bethe Correia believes he will return to the UFC even stronger than before. The Brazilian is confident that she will “return like a phoenix” in the fight against Rachel Pennington, on April 16, in Tampa, United States.

In August last year, Bethe experienced a defining experience in her life. She had the opportunity to challenge the previously undefeated champion of the category, Ronda Rousey, in combat full of spotlights and tension. The American won by knockout in just a few seconds, but Bethe believes she learned a lot from the experience.
“I don't belittle anyone and I know they all worked hard, but in terms of pressure and criticism, none of them went through what I went through. Mentally, I feel mature and strong. My way of training has changed and all of this will have an impact on the fight, I always say that I will return like a phoenix. Not that I died, because a defeat doesn’t erase my history, but I will come back more powerful than ever”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with the “Combate” channel website.
The former title challenger believes that her opponent has the ideal fighting style to enable her to win. “I like fighting girls with Raquel's profile, I have no doubt that we will turn Florida upside down, because we are strikers. She had good fights and that is a strong point. Raquel's weakness is that she is psychologically fragile. She takes that to the fight,” she analyzed.
The Brazilian will be in action at UFC on FOX 19, which will also feature names like Mauritius Shogun e Lyoto Machida.
