Interview: Fedor Emelianenko talks about his return to Japan

In an interview given to the Samurai TV channel, on November 22nd, the Pride heavyweight champion, Fedor Emelianenko He spoke about his return to Japan, the old Pride and future perspectives. Check the interview in full

– You haven't been to Japan for a long time, how do you feel?

Fedor: I'm happy to be here in Japan again. I knew I could come back to all my fans in Japan

– How did you know you could fight in the New Year’s event?

Fedor: Vadmim (his agent) asked me if I was interested and I accepted the offer immediately. I want to prepare well for this fight and have an exciting fight.

PUBLICITY:

– Do you have any comments for the former PRIDE staff?

Fedor: I don't think this is the last event I will work with them. M-1 Global has a business plan to promote events starting next year (2008). M-1 Global is currently approaching them and asking them to support the events. I believe M-1 Global will incorporate former PRIDE employees and create great events, like PRIDE previously had in Japan.

– Why did you choose M-1 Global?

Fedor: M-1 Global is made up of a trusted team and we agreed to create the best MMA event. I accepted because M-1 Global will have events in Japan, Russia, Holland and also in the United States.

– Who would you like to fight with?

PUBLICITY:

Fedor: I would like to fight with champions from other MMA organizations, like Randy Couture, Gabriel Gonzaga and champions from UFC, Cage Rage, IFL, etc.

– What is your definition of the strongest fighter?

Fedor: The strongest fighter must be able to defeat all opponents, respect other fighters, understand the circumstances and communicate well with others.

– Do you think you are the best currently?

Fedor: I don't think I'm the best right now, but I'm trying to be.

– Do you have any message for your fans?

Fedor: I'm happy to fight in Japan again. I train hard to win, please come and see my fight.
