After beating Ryan Couture last Saturday (30), Patricky Pitbull had been announced as Melvin Guillard's opponent at Bellator 149, on February 19th. However, the former UFC fighter rejected the duel against the Brazilian and will now face Derek Campos.
In an interview, Pitbull demonstrated his dissatisfaction with the refusal. “I don’t think he’s running away, I’m sure. He's scared, that's the right word. The fight was offered to me in the locker room, and I accepted. Guillard gave the answer the other day, that I would fly to Brazil. I was going to spend seven hours at Los Angeles airport and, if he said he was in, I would stay straight in the United States. But he replied no... He insulted me on social media, called me a 'bitch', by various names. I'm not nervous, nor disrespecting him. I just want to face him now that his opponent is injured,” he said, on the channel’s “Combat” website.
Bellator 149 takes place on February 19th, at the Toyota Center, in Houston (USA). In the main fight of the night, Royce gracie and Ken Shamrock, two of MMA's pioneers, face each other for the third time.
