The Brazilian public was surprised this Sunday with the announcement that Rodrigo Minotauro wouldn't face Frank mir at UFC-119. However, this Monday, the Tupiniquim black belt confirmed that he felt an old injury and will not be able to fight.
“I injured my hip training and will have to have surgery, I'm just depending on a few more tests to schedule the surgery, but I think I'll have surgery by the end of the week”, stated Minotauro through the website of Pretorian, one of his sponsors. The fighter explained how the surgical process will be carried out and what the recovery process will be like.
“The surgery will be on both sides of the hip, I will take advantage of the time off and will also operate on the knee. If everything goes well, I'll be back training in four months”, says Minotauro, who will be part of his recovery in the USA and will only return to Brazil in October.
