Fedor says: “We have no interest in the UFC”

The novel between Fedor Emelianenko and the UFC gained another chapter this week. M-1 Global, the company that manages the fighter's career, published on its website last night (12) statements from the Russian reaffirming that he intends to fulfill his contract with Strikeforce.

“For now, M-1 Global works with Strikeforce and we are focused on that, after all the contract has not yet ended. For now we have no interest in the UFC”, said Fedor, who is already talking about renewing his contractual relationship with the organization.

“So far I feel very comfortable with my fights, and I plan to fight as long as I physically can. I am interested and I think we should discuss the possibility of signing a new contract for four to six fights”, concluded the former Pride champion.

In his last appearance at Strikeforce, Fedor Emelianenko, saw an unbeaten run of more than 10 years fall, when he was submitted by Brazilian Fabrício Werdum in June. For many, this defeat could facilitate negotiations between the Russian and the UFC, something that ended up not happening.
