Jones puts on a show and knocks out Matyushenko at UFC on Versus

The second edition of UFC on Versus recently ended in San Diego, an event that featured another great performance from the young Jon Jones. The fighter, just 23 years old, completely dominated Belarusian Vladimir Matyushenko and won the fight by technical knockout in the first round, achieving his eleventh victory in his career. The only Brazilian on the card, Charles “do Bronx” debuted with everything in the UFC and submitted Darren Elkins in just 41 seconds of the fight

Right at the beginning of the fight, Jones didn't want to play around and showed all his versatility. After dodging a cross from Matyushenko, the American went for the legs and took down the Belarusian. He quickly passed his guard and trapped one of Vladimir's arms between his legs and severely punished his opponent with hard elbows until referee Herb Dean interrupted just 1m52s into the fight.

Yushin Okami beats Mark Nunõz and comes close to fighting for the title

During the UFC on Versus promotion, Ultimate's president, Dana White, was full of praise for Yushin Okami, stating that he deserved a chance to fight for the title, and inside the octagon the Japanese did not disappoint. Facing wrestler Mark Nunõz, Okami started the duel applying the best blows, facing an opponent who had difficulty defending punches from a southpaw. In the second round, the Japanese ended up being surprised by a cross from Munõz and was knocked down, but managed to recover quickly and avoided being taken down for the remainder of the round. In the last round, Yushin once again dominated the center of the octagon, applying the best blows and defending Mark's takedown attempts well. In the end, Okami won the judges' decision.

Gomi shows his boxing and knocks out Griffin

In his second appearance in the UFC, Takanori Gomi shook off his bad form and showed why he was the undisputed Pride lightweight champion. Faced with the tough Tyson Griffin, the Japanese immediately started striking and showed all the efficiency of his boxing. After a straight shot from the American went blank, Takanori used the counter blow to hit Tyson's chin and he was already knocked out after just 64 seconds of the fight.

Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira debuts on the right foot

Charles “from the Bronx”’s UFC debut couldn’t have been better. Right at the beginning of the fight, Darren Elkins went for it and got a takedown, but what the American didn't expect was the efficiency of the Brazilian's guard, who quickly managed a triangle and then went for an armbar, forcing his opponent to give up. in just 41 seconds.
