The UFC's new anti-doping program, administered by the North American Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), has been going through a real fine-tooth comb among the athletes of the largest MMA organization on the planet and has just claimed another “victim”: Yoel romero. Brazilian executioner Ronaldo Jacare at UFC 194, the Cuban was notified by the organization for having been caught in a drug test.

According to a statement issued by Ultimate itself, Romero was caught in an exam carried out outside the competition period – therefore carried out outside the UFC 194 weekend, between December 11th and 13th of last year. The event, however, did not reveal what substance was found in the fighter's body or even when the test was carried out, but the North American press reported that the test had been carried out after the fight against Jacaré. Romero can still appeal the result.

At 38, Yoel romero has a professional record of eleven wins and one loss in MMA. After hitting Ronaldo Jacare and rise to second place in the middleweight category ranking, the Cuban was being speculated as one of the favorites to become the new champion's first challenger Luke Rockhold – which, obviously, should not happen if your violation of the anti-doping policy is confirmed.
