Ateba started the fight aggressively, relying on his knockout power. More elusive, Kopylov sought to maintain distance and impressed with his dodges and counter-punches with his left hand.
During one of the Cameroonian's approaches, the Russian landed a counter straight punch that caused Gautier to lose his balance. Kopylov then followed up and finished the fight with a cross.

Like Ateba Gautier , Francis Ngannou also arrived in the UFC in overwhelming fashion. The former heavyweight champion racked up six consecutive wins in his first fights in the organization, all by stoppage. The young Cameroonian, on the other hand, has five wins, four by knockout and one by decision.

Besides his aggressive style, Ngannou shares physical similarities with the prospect. While the heavyweight is 1,93m tall and has a 2,11m reach, Gautier, who fights in the middleweight division, is the same height and has a reach of 2,06m.
