In July, in Las Vegas (USA), Conor McGregor tried to make a triumphant return to the UFC, but the opposite happened. Having not fought since 2021, the MMA star suffered a serious knee injury in the very first minute of his rematch against Max Holloway . The incident was so shocking that even Rafael dos Anjos showed solidarity with his Irish rival. Upon learning of the Brazilian's actions, 'Notorious' demonstrated fair play.

In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', Dos Anjos, who faces Alexander Hernandez at UFC 332, an event that takes place this Saturday (3), in Utah (USA), revealed that he felt bad for McGregor when he saw him injured in combat again and advised him to only return to competition if he is really motivated to be a professional fighter and reach the top. Realizing that his rival had put aside the rivalry and supported him, the Irishman surprised everyone by thanking him.
“It sucks. When I saw and knew it was a knee injury, especially because everyone wants to see a good fight. I don't like the guy, but I don't wish ill on anyone. What I went through, I don't wish on anyone. He could come back, but he has to want to. If you're too comfortable with your life, your finances, and you're not motivated, don't come back,” said the fighter.
“You have to be really interested. Do you want to fight again? You have to want to win, you have to have the will again, like I have now. If you don't have it, you won't succeed,” he concluded.
“Thank you, Rafael 🙏”, the UFC star replied to the publication's Instagram post.

Rivalry
In 2016, a fight between Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos was about to happen. In fact, at the press conference to promote the fight, 'Notorious' provoked his rival relentlessly, calling the bout 'Red Panties Night' for the Brazilian, as his financial life would be set. However, unfortunately for McGregor, RDA broke his foot in training, withdrew from the fight against the Irishman, and never saw him again.
