The tragic outcome of the confrontation between Raoni Barcelos and Raul Rosar Jr. continues to generate reactions from various figures in the world of MMA. Payton Talbott , who returns to the octagon this Saturday (3) to face Deiveson Figueiredo and already shared the cage with the Rio native in January of last year, questioned the lack of information about Raoni's health status during the end of the confrontation. He spoke about the subject during the UFC 332 media day this Wednesday (30).
The fighter, who doesn't usually have a problem addressing sensitive topics, said he was relieved to know that his former opponent is out of danger. However, he also said he was bothered by not knowing the reason why the Brazilian collapsed in such a way.

“I’m still interested to know exactly what happened. I think everyone is. But I’m glad he’s okay. I’m interested to see the implications for the rest of his career because he seemed very well and looked like he had many years ahead of him in his career based on how he was performing. And he has a family, and I just wish him well and hope everyone is at peace,” he stated.

Despite being one of the top prospects today, Talbott suffered his first defeat in a duel with Barcelos, a fight that followed a similar course to last Saturday's (26). Lasting only three rounds, the Brazilian won by unanimous decision and frustrated the American's expectations. Since then, he has recovered by beating Felipe Lima and Henry Cejudo.
