Ailin Perez believes that her rivalry with Norma Dumont started for a very specific reason. The Argentinian defeated the Brazilian at UFC Vegas 121, held last Saturday (26), in a duel marked by provocations before and after the fight. According to Perez, the animosity between the two was motivated by jealousy.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Perez recalled that she and Dumont had shared the same card on other occasions. According to the Argentinian, the exposure of both as highlights of the event, especially due to their physical appearance, contributed to the emergence of a rivalry marked by envy and jealousy.

“We shared posters together in the past, where we were the two big butts on the poster, and I think there was a lot of jealousy and envy,” said Ailin Perez.
Perez also stated that she believed Dumont was bothered by the attention she received from her own boyfriend, fellow fighter Marcos Tulio. According to the Argentinian, his behavior during their meetings fueled the Brazilian's discomfort and contributed to the tense atmosphere between them.
"I definitely think it's because she's jealous of my butt, but also because of her boyfriend. Every time we saw each other, he would look at me, and I think that bothered her a lot," the Argentinian concluded.
