Ian Machado Garry has already set his next target in the UFC. After being defeated by Islam Makhachev in his first fight for the welterweight title (up to 77,1 kg), the Irishman wasted no time and challenged Michael Morales to a fight sometime in 2026.
The provocation came to light this Monday (21), when the Ecuadorian published on his Instagram an exchange of messages with the Chute Boxe athlete. The dialogue exposed the interest of the two fighters in arranging the confrontation and even included a suggestion of date and location for the possible duel.

Garry: I want to fight before the end of the year and I was told you're not available. You could be the reserve for the world title fight, but you can't fight me now?
Morales: “Son, what are you talking about? I'll fight whenever you want, I just want a contract and that's it. I'll beat you up.”
Garry: “Saudi Arabia. November 28th, let's go.”
Morales: "Sign, my son, and let's fight."
With the challenge issued, it remains to be seen if the UFC will officially confirm the fight between two rising names in the division. If the duel is confirmed, Ian Machado Garry and Michael Morales will have the opportunity to get closer to a welterweight title shot if they win.
