Paulo Borrachinha has made public an impasse involving his contract with the UFC. The light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) fighter used social media to speak about the situation and demand a resolution regarding his future. The Brazilian also made it clear that he is willing to negotiate different possibilities to resolve the issue.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on September 20th, the fighter wrote to Hunter Campbell, a UFC executive, outlining the terms of his upcoming fight. In the message, Borrachinha detailed his contractual situation and presented three alternatives to the organization.

“Okay, I’m going to make this public and clear: I have one more fight. In my contract, the purse is set for 3 rounds, not 5. I’m asking for the 3-round fight that was already agreed upon in the contract. It can be against anyone from the UFC light heavyweight roster. I think Hunter has 3 options now: A) Give me this last 3-round fight (I accept any opponent). B) Give me a 5-round fight in the light heavyweight division against anyone in 6 weeks. I accept, BUT increase my purse accordingly. That’s the fair minimum, right? C) Release me from the contract now. Simple and direct. I hope everyone understands. 09/18/2026 Las Vegas, Nevada,” wrote Paulo Borrachinha.
