With the biggest opportunity of his career in sight at UFC 331 , Mauricio Ruffy may have to worry about Arman Tsarukyan even before stepping into the octagon. Known for several controversies, the Armenian hinted that he could attack the Brazilian before the fight while talking to Michael Bisping during an interview recorded and published on the former fighter's YouTube channel this Thursday (17).
When asked if his last fight, against Dan Hooker , was a valid title challenger bout, he confirmed it and said that headbutting his opponent during the weigh-in face-off prevented him from maintaining the expected trajectory. When asked if that behavior was in the past, he simply said, "You never know."

“This is the third opponent I’ve faced to become the number one contender. I’ve been the number one contender for almost three years now. I faced (Charles) Oliveira, (Dan) Hooker, but the headbutt changed my plans and now I’m going to fight again. It doesn’t matter how many there will be,” he stated.
After what happened with Dan Hooker , Arman Tsarukyan was asked about another potential headbutt against Mauricio Ruffy : “YOU NEVER KNOW.” 😭👀

One of the top names in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), Arman Tsarukyan has a history of controversies outside the octagon, mainly regarding aggression. Besides the headbutt on Dan Hooker , the Armenian also punched a fan who provoked him as he walked towards the cage to face Charles Oliveira at UFC 300. Competing in the RAF earlier this year, he was involved in a brawl while fighting Georgio Poullas. Later, he also knocked Urijah Faber out of the competition area, admitting to doing so intentionally.
