In a publication on X, Álvaro Colmenero, a journalist and personal friend of Topuria, revealed that he had spoken with Jesús Gallo, the Spaniard's physical trainer. According to the report, the former champion has already resumed training in Miami and should be ready to fight again starting in February 2027.
“I was talking to Jesús Gallo, Ilia Topuria ’s physical trainer . He informed me that Ilia is progressively returning to training in Miami and that he will be ready to fight from February 2027,” wrote Álvaro Colmenero.
