To give you an idea of the project's magnitude, the press conference to present Ki MMA featured true icons of the sport, such as Cris Cyborg , Nate Diaz , Randy Couture, Renzo Gracie, Royce Gracie , and others. For those who don't know, Coker elevated Strikeforce to a prominent level in the sport and also played a key role in consolidating Bellator as a force. Now, the veteran will renew his long-standing partnership with matchmaker Rich Chou and has stated that the new company will not focus solely on the United States; that is, it plans to hold events in a variety of countries.

And, just as he did in the classic organizations, Coker stated that he will continue betting on the tournament format. Furthermore, the executive revealed that the first Ki MMA Grand Prix should be valid for the featherweight division (up to 65,8 kg) and will feature 32 fighters. In addition, the fights will not take place in a cage but in a ring, as was the case in the golden age of Pride.
