Jean Silva had a night to forget in his first main event fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and he truly did forget it. The Brazilian faced Diego Lopes at Noche UFC in September 2025 and was knocked out by his compatriot after receiving a spinning elbow. The outcome erased from the fighter's memory the recollections of that night, which should have been special in his career.

In a press conference after his victory over José Delgado, Jean Silva revealed that the fight against Diego Lopes left him with few lasting memories. The Brazilian stated that that night robbed him of any memories he might have had of his first main event fight in the UFC.

Coincidentally, Jean Silva once again headlined a main event at Noche UFC 2026, held this Saturday (12). This time, the Brazilian got the better of José Delgado and finished his opponent in the third round.

After the victory, Jean Silva explained that he remembers practically nothing from his first main event fight. According to the Brazilian, he doesn't remember entering the octagon, his entrance music, or even the cameras in front of him. Therefore, he considers the fight against José Delgado as his first true main event.

“I don’t remember anything. I don’t remember entering the octagon, I don’t remember my music, I don’t remember the camera in front of me. It’s kind of strange, but for me, (against José Delgado) is my first main event,” Lord concluded.

Jean Silva could challenge for the UFC belt.

With his victory over José Delgado, Jean Silva strengthened his position in the race for the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg). The Brazilian could become the next challenger for the title, since Movsar Evloev , his main competitor for the opportunity, is scheduled to face Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 333.

Given the current state of the division, the trend suggests that Jean Silva will be next in line for the title.

Johnny Walker opens up about his heavyweight debut at UFC 332.
