Alex Poatan has become the target of yet another prominent heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. After debuting in the division with a loss to Ciryl Gane , the Brazilian is experiencing a moment of uncertainty regarding his next opponent. It seems Shamil Gaziev wants to get in line to face the Brazilian.
In a post on X, Gaziev celebrated his return to the division's rankings and made himself available to face any fighter ranked between sixth and 14th. The Russian, however, made it clear that a duel against Poatan would be a dream matchup and even joked about the possibility of naming the encounter 'Shama vs. Chama'.

Although Shamil Gaziev is willing to secure a fight against Alex Poatan in the UFC, the Brazilian wants a rematch with Ciryl Gane . The Frenchman has even given the green light for a possible rematch.
Poatan, in a video posted on Instagram , made it clear that, at this moment, the only fight that makes sense for him is a rematch with Gane. The Frenchman, on the other hand, stated in a declaration to 'RMC Sport Combat' that his main objective is to face Tom Aspinall . However, if the Briton does not return to the octagon, Gane has shown himself willing to accept a rematch against the Brazilian.
