After years of dominance in the UFC lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), the Dagestan Clan is planning a new chapter in the most populous division in MMA. A free agent, Usman Nurmagomedov is expected to sign with the Ultimate Fighting Championship soon. The Russian hopes to maintain his undefeated record in the world's biggest MMA event, at least that's what Islam Makhachev believes.

The current welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) spoke about the subject in an interview with Match TV last Wednesday (9). According to him, Khabib Nurmagomedov 's younger cousin should sign with Dana White soon.
“I can’t give a 100% answer. But 90%? Yes. I think Usman has already grown beyond where he is now. There isn’t as much interest from people in seeing him fight a rematch in the PFL anymore. I think now is the perfect time for him to come to the UFC. There are so many dangerous guys in the division. He can prove he’s the best in the world. Everything is leading to something good,” he stated.
