Alex Poatan suffered a tough blow in his heavyweight debut (up to 120,2 kg) and makes no secret of his desire to erase the bad impression left in the octagon. At UFC Casa Branca , an event held in June in Washington (USA), the Brazilian was brutally knocked out by Ciryl Gane , but claimed to have been wronged by referee Herb Dean and began a campaign to obtain an immediate rematch. However, the athlete's quest for revenge against his tormentor was not well received by Michael Bisping.

On his official YouTube channel, the UFC Hall of Famer and current commentator criticized Poatan for forcing a second fight against the Frenchman. It's worth noting that Tom Aspinall is currently the undisputed heavyweight champion and Gane holds the interim belt, meaning the title unification fight needs to happen, especially given the controversy surrounding their first encounter.
As the Brazilian continues to complain, claiming he lost to 'Bon Gamin' because he received several elbows to the back of the head and that a rematch is the fight that needs to happen in the division, Bisping didn't hold back. According to the veteran, the renowned striker clearly has difficulty dealing with defeat and accepting that he was beaten.
“Alex fought Gane and was soundly defeated in the second round, and I think we can all agree that, yes, okay, there may have been some blows to the back of the head, but Gane didn't cheat. He won impressively. He knocked his opponent down with a jab and then connected with some elbows, maybe one or two were irregular, but the fight continued,” said the MMA legend.
“Alex got up, showed a lot of grit, but was attacked and brutally beaten. And I'm not saying this as someone who dislikes Alex. I have nothing against him. I think he's incredible for the sport and for what he brings to the octagon, the excitement, the frequency with which he fights.”
“Everything about Alex is what the UFC wants and what we, fight fans, want to see. But after that, he kind of started a campaign and, to be honest, showed himself to be a sore loser in that situation. But anyway, let it go, who cares? We don't need to dwell on the past,” he concluded.
