Khamzat Chimaev continues to show that losing his undefeated record in the UFC hasn't shaken him. Last Saturday (5), the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) entered the main fight of RAF Moscow (RUS) and put on a show, beating Tyron Woodley , former welterweight king (up to 77,1 kg), in seconds. After his participation in the show, the Russian, determined to recover in the octagon, addressed his future and surprised.

Recently, Chimaev challenged his nemesis Sean Strickland , Dricus du Plessis , Nassourdine Imavov , and Caio Borralho , in that order, to a fight. The Brazilian then accepted the 'invitation' made by 'Borz' and suggested the duel could take place in November or December. The Russian readily accepted 'The Natural's' proposal. However, Khamzat called off the fight after receiving an update from the UFC itself.
Therefore, the Chimaev vs. Borralho fight, which seemed to be a matter of time before it was made official, has been put on hold. It's worth noting that the Brazilian did, in fact, undergo surgery and is recovering from injuries, but he assured that he will be fit to face his friend in the final stretch of 2026.
“For me, it doesn’t matter. I challenged everyone. I want to come back as soon as possible. Before, I said I wanted to fight again in October and I spoke with the UFC. They told me that Caio and Du Plessis are injured. We’ll see what happens. I don’t know exactly. Maybe Imavov and Strickland won’t fight and I’ll be ready,” said the former UFC champion in an interview with 'Red Corner MMA'.
