At 46 years old, Glover Teixeira shows plenty of willingness to continue his activity in combat sports. Last Saturday (29), in São Paulo, the athlete faced Maurício Shogun in a clash of legends in the main fight of Spaten Fight Night 3 and won by unanimous decision in boxing. After winning the event, Glover , seeking new boxing matches, accepted the challenge made by Alexander Gustafsson 's team and expressed interest in facing Jan Blachowicz . It's worth noting that, in the UFC, the Brazilian was knocked out by the Swede in 2017 and submitted the Pole in 2021. Not satisfied, Teixeira also accepted Shogun 's own request for a rematch after the war they both put on, which was approved by many.

"More than deserved. If he wants it, for sure! The guy deserves it. He said it would be the last one, but now he sees that maybe there are some things he thought he could improve. If he wants that chance for a rematch, let's go for another Shogun!", said the MMA legend in an interview with 'Combate'.

“Sure, with anyone, but that’s the way it is. Shogun definitely deserves a rematch because he made the fight so valuable. And we put on what people are saying was one of the best fights of the year. That’s really cool,” he concluded.

Glover Teixeira , 46, made his mark on MMA and became a legend. The Brazilian began his career in the sport in 2002, became the UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) in 2021, and retired in 2023.

In this style of fighting, the veteran built a record of 33 wins, 28 by stoppage (18 by knockout and ten by submission), and nine losses. His main victories were over Anthony Smith , Jan Błachowicz, Jared Cannonier , Quinton Rampage Jackson , Rashad Evans , Ryan Bader , and Thiago Marreta.
