Song Yadong knocked out Umar Nurmagomedov last Saturday (29), in a fight held by UFC Shanghai . The Chinese surprised the Russian by achieving a resounding victory, interrupting the duel in the first round and imposing on his rival one of the toughest defeats of his career.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani's channel, this Wednesday (2), Yadong commented on the impact that the result may have on his rival's career. The bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) stated that the knockout was especially worrying because of the way it happened.

"Hmm, I don't know. He has a big problem. It's very difficult to recover from such a brutal knockout," said Song Yadong.
The Chinese fighter also made it clear that he believes Umar will need time to recover physically and mentally before considering a return to the octagon. The result ends a two-fight winning streak and may cause the UFC to be cautious in scheduling his next fight.

At 30 years old, Umar Nurmagomedov is considered one of the top names in the UFC bantamweight division. A professional since 2016, the Russian has a record of 20 wins and two losses, notably with two knockout victories and seven submission wins. A cousin of the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov , the fighter has established himself among the best in the category and has already challenged for the bantamweight title. Among his career highlights are victories over names like Cory Sandhagen , Deiveson Figueiredo , and Raoni Barcelos.
