Arman Tsarukyan points out the ideal fight for Ilia Topuria’s return to the UFC

American Top Team fighter reveals opponent for Georgian's return and explains why the UFC might avoid the fight.

Arman Tsarukyan is keeping an eye on Ilia Topuria 's next steps in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). The Armenian will be in the co-main event of UFC 331 on September 19th in Los Angeles (USA), against Brazilian Mauricio Ruffy . The fighter assessed the former champion's future and revealed that he believes the organization may choose an easier path for the Georgian.

During his appearance on UFC on Paramount, in the 'Deep Waters' segment on YouTube, last Monday (31), Tsarukyan commented on a possible confrontation involving Topuria and explained why he believes the organization may adopt a different strategy to define the next opponent of 'El Matador'.

“Paddy and Topuria is a fight that makes sense. I don’t think they (the UFC) will set up the fight because they don’t want Paddy to lose, nor do they want Ilia to lose. They’re going to give Ilia an easy opponent,” said Arman Tsarukyan.

Ilia Topuria lost his lightweight title in June at UFC Casa Branca when he was knocked out by Justin Gaethje . The Georgian was ultimately defeated by the American in the title fight and, since then, has been focusing on his next steps in the division.
