Renato Moicano Forges a Dream Path in the UFC with Three Great Fights

Renato Moicano is already thinking about the next big challenges in his career. The Brazilian, who is coming off a victory over Chris Duncan in April, has a fight scheduled against Brian Ortega at UFC 331 on September 19th, but he doesn't hide the fact that he has even bigger goals within the organization.

In an interview with the Sexto Round channel on YouTube, available last Sunday (30), the lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) revealed the sequence of fights he would like to have if he had the freedom to choose his next opponents. The plan involves big names from two categories and even a rematch that, according to him, could happen under very different conditions.

“If I could choose, Topuria, I’d beat Topuria, Justin Gaethje , then move up a weight class and beat Islam. I always wanted to fight at 77kg, I’d tell him: ‘Brother, I only had one day of preparation, with my training camp I’ll kill you’,” said Renato Moicano.

The Brazilian fighter also expressed confidence that he could have performed better against the welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg), Islam Makhachev , if he had had a complete preparation for the fight. Moicano even recalled that he only had one day of preparation for his previous duel against the Russian.

At 37 years old, Renato Moicano is one of the most experienced names in the UFC lightweight division. A professional since 2010, the Brazilian has a record of 21 wins, seven losses, and one draw, with 11 wins by submission and two by knockout. Among his career highlights are victories over names like Alexander Hernandez , Cub Swanson , and Benoit Saint Denis.
