Hometown favorite Yadong delighted the local crowd by knocking out Umar Nurmagomedov in the second round, defying expectations and surprising millions of fans, securing a very special place in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg). With the trilogy fight for the title between Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili scheduled for UFC 333 in October, the Chinese fighter should hope for the Georgian to reclaim the title, so he can establish himself as the number one contender and finally fight for the crown.

Denise Gomes vs. Virna Jandiroba

Perhaps no athlete left UFC Shanghai with a victory as significant as Denise Gomes' . The Brazilian was only ranked 14th in the strawweight division (up to 52,1 kg) when she faced Yan Xiaonan , a former title challenger in the category, who in turn occupied the 4th position and was fighting at home. In less than five minutes, she knocked out the Chinese fighter with a beautiful knockout and brought about a complete change at the top of the division.

With this surprising result, she should move into the top 5 in the next ranking update, making her next opponent clear: Virna Jandiroba . Another former title challenger and considerably older than Denise, Carcará would be the best option for the fighter, leaving Tatiana Suarez aside and coloring the strawweight category green and yellow.

If the failure against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 310 had already left a stain on his record, the defeat last Saturday (29) completely changed the public's perception of the Russian in the Ultimate.
