In April, in Miami (USA), Paulo Borrachinha achieved a major victory in the UFC. Switching from middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) to light heavyweight (up to 93 kg), the Brazilian knocked out Azamat Murzakanov in the third round and definitively entered the race to compete for the belt. Now, the athlete sees his name being linked again to Khamzat Chimaev , his eternal rival, but he makes a rather discouraging prediction about him.

Recently, a rumor indicated that Borrachinha could face the Russian, who would be making his light heavyweight debut, at UFC 332, an event scheduled for October 3rd, with the interim title at stake. It's worth noting that Dana White himself stated that the Brazilian, with champion Carlos Ulberg injured , is being considered for that title fight. Aware of this scenario, the athlete doubts that Chimaev , formerly a welterweight (up to 77,1 kg), will do well in the 93 kg division and advised him to take a completely different path.
“He should go back to his place in the welterweight division or something. The light heavyweight division isn’t for him. It’s simply too much, but welcome 🤗,” the fighter wrote on his official account on 'X'.
Interestingly, in 2023, at the height of the rivalry, the UFC scheduled a fight between Borrachinha and Chimaev. However, after much taunting, the Brazilian withdrew from the fight after suffering an elbow infection and undergoing surgery.
