Song Yadong delivered an unforgettable performance against Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC Shanghai , held this Saturday (29). The Chinese fighter entered the octagon in the main event as a five-to-one underdog and, after being dominated in the first round, surprised his rival and knocked out Khabib Nurmagomedov 's cousin in the second round.

With the knockout, Song Yadong reached his 24th career victory, his tenth by knockout. Umar, on the other hand, suffered his second defeat in 22 UFC fights.

Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong began their fight cautiously. Between feints and low kicks, the Dagestani fighter capitalized on a moment of carelessness from the Chinese fighter and took the fight to the ground. After dominating from half-guard, Nurmagomedov attempted to take his back, but ended up giving Song space, allowing him to stand up. However, the Chinese fighter didn't have enough time to reverse the course of the first round.

In the second round, the fight became much more cautious. At one point, when Umar again attempted a takedown, Song Yadong anticipated the move and landed a perfect counter uppercut, which knocked out the Dagestani fighter and secured the Chinese fighter a knockout victory in the main event of UFC Shanghai.
