Glover Teixeira and Mauricio Shogun carry a great responsibility as they headline the main fight of Spaten Fight Night 3, this Saturday (29). After promoting a lukewarm fight between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen in the first edition and a general war involving Acelino Popó and Wanderlei Silva in the second, the beer brand returns to combat sports with the duel between the former UFC champions.
Contested under boxing rules, in eight two-minute rounds, in the super heavyweight division (up to 110 kg), the fight marks the return of the veterans to action. The expectation is that Glover Teixeira and Mauricio Shogun will deliver a worthy duel between two stars of the sport, with the rivalry prevailing within the rules, as promised in previous editions.

With Alex Poatan in his corner, Glover Teixeira arrives at Spaten Fight Night with a record of 33 wins and nine losses in MMA. The Minas Gerais native, who became the oldest champion to win the UFC light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg), has recorded 18 knockouts and ten submissions, finishing 85% of his professional victories by stoppage.

Maurício Shogun Rua , for his part, ended his MMA career with a record of 27 wins, 14 losses, and one draw. Known for his aggressive striking style, the former UFC light heavyweight champion and PRIDE middleweight Grand Prix winner achieved 21 knockout victories, representing 78% of his wins.
Judo and Jiu-Jitsu are new additions to Spaten Fight Night 3.

In addition to boxing matches, Spaten Fight Night 3 is betting on new features to reinvent the spectacle. Scheduled for August 29th, the event will also include judo and jiu-jitsu fights.
Among the highlights are Olympic champions Bia Souza and Rafaela Silva, who will face Prisca Awiti and Raz Hershko, respectively. The card also includes a clash between multi-time world champions of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Felipe Preguiça and Nicholas Meregali.
