UFC Pirate battles Gracie family star in epic event headlined by Khamzat Chimaev

Known for being one of the most creative and technical strikers in MMA today, Shara Magomedov is ready to venture into a completely different sport. The UFC middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) fighter has signed a contract with RAF, a wrestling organization, and will make his debut on September 5th in Moscow, Russia. His opponent at the grand event will be Brazilian Neiman Gracie , a former Bellator fighter.

Like Shara, the Brazilian is also making his debut in the wrestling organization. As one might expect, being a member of one of the most traditional martial arts families, Neiman is a jiu-jitsu specialist. At his peak in Bellator, the athlete stood out and even competed for the welterweight title (up to 77,1 kg). Currently, the veteran is 37 years old and hasn't fought since 2024, when he lost to Magomed Umalatov in the PFL.

For his part, the 32-year-old Russian fought his last fight in June. In it, Shara defeated Michel Pereira . Before that, the athlete faced Arman Tsarukyan and Edson Barboza in grappling, in duels that ended in draws.

Stellar event

The main event at RAF Moscow is between Khamzat Chimaev , former UFC middleweight champion, and Tyron Woodley , former welterweight champion of the company. The show will also feature wrestling legends Abdulrashid Sadulaev, Jordan Burroughs, and Kyle Snyder in action.
