José Aldo is back! After suffering a defeat at UFC 315 and announcing his retirement , the 'King of Rio' returns to combat sports for a new challenge. The Brazilian will face Marlon Vera in a rematch, this time under the grappling rules of Hype FC.

The fight, announced on the organization's official page, will take place on October 4th in Quito, Ecuador. The fight will also mark Vera's return to Hype FC after her draw against Jean Silva at the event held in São Paulo in April 2026.

The clash between the 'King of Rio' and Marlon Vera will be a rematch. At UFC Vegas 17, held in December 2020, Aldo defeated the Ecuadorian by judges' decision. With the victory, the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) overcame a bad streak of three negative results.

Before thinking about José Aldo , Marlon Vera has more pressing matters to attend to. The Ecuadorian is scheduled to fight at UFC 331 on September 19th against Charles Jourdain.
The event will feature Alexandre Pantoja and Mauricio Ruffy in action in the main fights of the night against Joshua Van and Arman Tsarukyan , respectively.
