1 – against Lyoto Machida

While the first fight between Lyoto Machida and Shogun was controversial and continues to generate debate to this day, the rematch was clear. Defeated by unanimous decision in 2009, Mauricio was determined to get revenge on Machida and he did so brutally a year later. The athlete knocked out his rival in the first round and thus became the UFC light heavyweight champion.

2 – against Ricardo Arona

Shogun's campaign in the 2005 Pride Middleweight Grand Prix was simply historic. In the first phase, the Brazilian knocked out Quinton Jackson with 'soccer kicks' in the first round, won the war against Rogério Minotouro by unanimous decision in the quarterfinals, knocked out Alistair Overeem in the first round in the semifinals, and in the final, quickly knocked out Ricardo Arona in the first round. In his first UFC light heavyweight title fight, Glover was unlucky and lost to Jon Jones by unanimous decision. However, the Brazilian didn't give up on his dream of reaching the top of the division and experienced his greatest career moment in 2021. Despite his advanced age to compete, Teixeira showed no mercy to Jan Błachowicz, finishing him in the second round and winning the belt.

2 – against Ryan Bader

When the UFC visited Brazil, more precisely Minas Gerais, in 2013, Glover was obviously the star of the event. There, the Brazilian faced Ryan Bader and did not disappoint.
