Vitor Petrino Explains Why He Hasn't Faced Valter Walker in the UFC Yet

Vitor Petrino is willing to settle his rivalry with Valter Walker , but he has other plans for his UFC career. Both Brazilian heavyweight fighters (up to 120,2 kg) frequently exchange barbs on social media and in interviews. However, according to 'Cabuloso' (Petrino's nickname), a potential fight would only happen if it's in the UFC's interest.

In a statement to PVT, Vitor Petrino stated that he had previously requested a fight against Valter Walker , but that, due to the lack of agreement, he prefers to concentrate his efforts on opponents who are ahead of him in the rankings. Currently in eighth position in the division, the Brazilian intends to face names from seventh place upwards and prioritize his rise in the category instead of his compatriot who holds the ninth position.

“I already asked for this fight, I don’t know why it didn’t happen. If it’s in the UFC’s interest, great, but today my interest is in fighting the guys who are above me in the rankings. Today I’m eighth, so I want to fight seventh or higher. I prefer to look ahead,” said Vitor Petrino.
