One of the top names in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg), Sean Brady assessed the potential challenges Islam Makhachev faces at the top of the category and pointed out which opponent he believes could make life the most difficult for the champion. The fighter also highlighted the knockout power of one of the contenders, but mentioned weaknesses that could be exploited in the octagon.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani's YouTube channel, this Wednesday (26), Brady analyzed the styles of Carlos Prates and Michael Morales . The fighter explained why he believes that one of them can offer more difficulties for Makhachev.

“I think Prates can knock out anyone, for sure. Between Prates and Morales, everyone will say I'm biased because I lost to Morales, but I think Morales will give Islam more trouble. I was asking for the fight against Carlos Prates , so I reviewed his fights, where I saw guys from ONE FC taking him down and beating him on the ground,” said Sean Brady.
The American believes that Islam Makhachev could exploit this vulnerability to impose his takedown and ground control game. At the same time, Brady stressed that there are still doubts about Morales' performance in areas important for a matchup against the champion.
“I think Islam will be able to do the same, whereas with Morales, we still don’t know how good he is. We still don’t know what his ground game is like. We don’t know what his physical conditioning is like. We don’t know all these things, and I think that’s going to be a much more important factor,” the American concluded.

At 34 years old, Makhachev is one of the top names in the UFC and currently the organization's welterweight champion. The Russian has a professional record of 29 wins and one loss, with five wins by knockout and 13 by submission, numbers that highlight his dominance in grappling and his evolution in striking.
Former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg), Islam Makhachev has built one of the most dominant careers in the event's recent history. He has victories over names like Charles Oliveira , Dustin Poirier , Alexander Volkanovski , and Ian Machado Garry , and maintains a long winning streak in the organization, with 17 consecutive wins.
