Liga Monstro Combate (LMC) will hold the second edition of its event this Friday (28) in São Paulo, bringing together MMA names, up-and-coming athletes and different combat sports formats. In total, there will be 12 fights, including professional MMA, Crown Fight and boxing.
The main event of the night will be the international duel between former UFC bantamweight Marlon Moraes and Argentinian Maximiliano 'Demonio' Pérez, in a catchweight bout up to 63 kg. In the co-main event, Glaico França , champion of TUF Brazil 4 and former UFC and PFL athlete, faces Willian 'Rottwailer' Lima, in a welterweight bout (up to 120,2 kg).
Originally from Nova Friburgo, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, 38-year-old Marlon Moraes returns to MMA after a three-year hiatus from fighting. A member of American Top Team, he was the inaugural bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg) of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF), the organization that gave rise to the current PFL, and defended the title five times before signing with the UFC.
Marlon built a streak of 13 consecutive victories between 2011 and 2017 and, in the UFC, defeated names like José Aldo , Raphael Assunção , Jimmie Rivera , John Dodson , and Aljamain Sterling . In 2019, he fought for the UFC bantamweight title against Henry Cejudo.

“I want to come back 100%, at my best. I was one of the best in the world and I came here to show the highest level of MMA in the world. My intention in being here at Liga Monstro Combate is to transform LMC into the biggest event in Brazil,” says Marlon Moraes.
Marlon Moraes faces Argentine rival
The opponent will be the Argentinian Maximiliano 'Demonio' Pérez, 38 years old, from Monte Grande, in the Buenos Aires region. A former Argentinian featherweight champion in the Argentinian Mixed Martial Arts Circuit (CAM), Pérez won the title in Mar del Plata and subsequently gained international experience, including a stint with the LUX Fight League in Mexico, representing Argentina.
The match pits a former UFC title challenger against an Argentinian national champion, bringing the traditional sporting rivalry between Brazil and Argentina into the LMC cage.
Glaico França x Willian 'Rottwailer' Lima
The co-main event also features two athletes with outstanding careers in Brazilian MMA.
Glaico 'Brazilian Zombie' França, 35 years old, is from Curitibanos (SC), is part of the American Top Team and has a record of 23 wins and eight losses. Champion of TUF Brazil 4, he was the first person from Santa Catarina to win the reality show, finishing Fernando Bruno in the final held at UFC 190 in 2015.
Besides the UFC, Glaico competed in the PFL, Pancrase in Japan, and RCC in Russia. He started in martial arts as a child, going through judo, karate, and kickboxing before dedicating himself to MMA.
On the other side will be Willian 'Rottwailer' Lima, 32 years old, from Florianópolis (SC). A black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, the RFA Team / Trem Bala Jiu-Jitsu athlete has a record of 16 wins, four losses and one no contest.
Expectations for the second edition
LMC is entering its second edition after a debut held in Curitiba on June 6th, which featured 13 fights and generated significant media coverage on television and in the digital environment.
According to consolidated data in the organization's media kit, the first edition placed RedeTV! in 3rd place in the Greater São Paulo audience ranking, surpassing Record and Band, and reached more than 3 million people. In the digital realm, LMC accumulated more than 20 million views in the last 90 days, in addition to reaching more than 2 million accounts.
For Jamil Achlei, founder and president of Liga Monstro Combate, the second edition represents a new step in consolidating the project.
“The first edition showed that there is room for a project like LMC. Now we want to surpass what we did in Curitiba, improve with each edition and build, step by step, one of the largest combat sports platforms in Brazil. LMC was born to think big, but always keeping the athlete and the real fight at the center of the spectacle,” says Jamil Achlei.
Starting with LMC 2, the organization will hold monthly events with confirmed dates until December, always on the last Friday of the month, at the RedeTV! studios, specially adapted for the event, in São Paulo.

LMC 2 will feature nine fights on the main card, including professional MMA and Crown Fight bouts, as well as three boxing matches on the preliminary card.
Created by the League itself, Crown Fight is an original fighting style that debuted in LMC 1 and was developed to increase the pace and tension of the fights. Among its rules is the so-called Red Zone, a mandatory period in each round where athletes exclusively engage in striking, without ground fighting, grappling, or clinching.
In LMC 2, the sport will be represented by the confrontation between Ryan “Tupã” and Rayan “Polacco”, two young athletes from Pinhais (PR). Ryan won his first fight in LMC by knockout in just 30 seconds and now makes his debut in Crown Fight.
Another highlight is Maycon Alcino, winner of the first Crown Fight in history, at LMC 1. The athlete from Curitiba faces Caique “Dark” Araujo in a traditional MMA fight in the featherweight division.
The boxing card also features names familiar to the social media and MMA audience, such as Sthanley “O Maskara”, Evenilson Pinto and Rony Jason.
