Recently, Charles do Bronx 's life has been turned upside down. The Brazilian, who fought in March, saw his name linked to a possible rematch against Arman Tsarukyan in September in California (USA), had to deal with the death of his friend Allan Puro Osso in August, and now is being speculated to welcome Diego Lopes to the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). In an interview with 'Olhar da Luta', Charles clarified the rumor indicating that negotiations are underway for a Brazil vs. Brazil clash and put an end to the controversy. It is true that Diego has already expressed his desire to switch from featherweight (up to 65,8 kg) to lightweight and fueled speculation by posting a video watching a fight of the former champion.

However, the MMA legend made it clear that the UFC never offered him such a fight. Not satisfied, Charles, who has just returned to training and is still recovering from the shock of Puro Osso's departure, emphasizes that the only fight he wants is against champion Justin Gaethje.

"So, hopefully nobody interprets me the wrong way or anything. But, like, this fight never happened, not even a rumor about it happening. However, I think nobody's stupid, everyone knows that the UFC is business, it's a game, right? So, a post you make, a statement you make, it gives you a boost. So, when that boost happens, the UFC makes that connection," he said.

“I don’t know if they told Diego something, to make him post that photo, the video of him watching my fight. I don’t know, but, as far as I’m concerned, nothing about any fight has reached me. What I think is that I’m next in line for a title fight. So, that’s my thought, that’s my focus,” he concluded.
