Lerryan Douglas suffered one of the most frustrating defeats for Brazilian fans in recent times. The Pistoleiro entered the action on the preliminary card of UFC Sacramento, held last Saturday (22), and, despite arriving as a big favorite and surrounded by expectations, ended up being knocked out in the first round by Jamal Emmers. The result, in addition to representing a tough sporting setback, also caused a fracture in his orbital bone and, in the view of Renato Moicano , may have shaken the Brazilian's confidence.
In a video published on his YouTube channel, Moicano analyzed Lerryan's performance and pointed out that the Brazilian had underestimated Emmers by entering the fight overly confident in his ability to achieve a knockout, in a situation similar to that experienced by Ilia Topuria against Justin Gaethje.

He started to get frustrated, walking forward, and when he realized it, the knockout came… This is for those watching to learn: believe in yourself, but don’t let arrogance convince you that you are the best,” said Renato Moicano.
In Moicano's assessment, the episode serves as a lesson for Lerryan and other fighters: it's important to trust in one's own abilities, but without allowing that confidence to turn into arrogance.
"The UFC put this fight on to test his level. Now, he has a record of 14 wins and six losses. Won't that affect him?", concluded the YouTuber fighter.

Former LFA champion, he secured a UFC contract after knocking out Cam Teague in 36 seconds at the Contender Series in September 2025. Lerryan Douglas has a record of 14 wins, with eight wins by knockout and two by submission, and now six losses.
