Rival accuses Robocop of cheating and blames Herb Dean for the UFC Sacramento result: 'Damn referee'

Herb Dean has become embroiled in yet another UFC refereeing controversy. After being blamed for Alex Poatan 's loss at UFC Casa Branca and for Michel Pereira 's dismissal after UFC Baku , the referee has once again been cited in a controversy, this time related to the fight between Anthony Hernandez and Gregory Robocop . At least, that's what the American claims.

Hernandez faced Gregory Robocop in the main event of UFC Sacramento, held last Saturday (22), and ended up being defeated by unanimous decision of the judges after a true five-round war. Despite accepting the defeat against the Brazilian, the American accused the man from Manaus of cheating during the fight and stated that he communicated the situation to Herb Dean during the fight.

“The more I saw him slowing down, I thought, ‘OK, I’m going to finish him this round.’ I hit him a few times, left him shaken. He’s a tough guy to take down. I hit everything I could, even things I didn’t have, and I also landed some strong elbows. The guy was cheating and holding the inside of my gloves, and I warned Herb Dean about that. I fight clean, so that’s it. Maybe I should be dirtier,” said Anthony Hernandez at the post-event press conference.

Hernandez stated that he warned Herb Dean several times during the fight about Robocop's alleged behavior, but, according to him, the referee only verbally warned the Brazilian and did not apply any penalty. The American also expressed dissatisfaction with the decision not to deduct points from the Manaus native and accused his opponent of resorting to unfair practices.

“I told the damn referee, ‘That son of a b**** is holding my glove, like, four times. Hey, he’s holding my gloves,’ and he told him, ‘Hey, stop it.’ But anyway, whatever. Don’t take away a point, whatever. I guess some people like to cheat, so that’s it,” Fluffy concluded.
