Lerryan Douglas suffered an unexpected defeat at UFC Sacramento, held last Saturday (22), but the result had a worrying circumstance. The Brazilian entered the action in the last fight of the preliminary card as a big favorite against Jamal Emmers, but ended up succumbing after being hit by a strong straight punch to the face. According to Cub Swanson , former Ultimate fighter and coach of the gunman, the blow caused the Brazilian to momentarily lose vision in the affected eye.
In a post on 'X', Swanson reported that Lerryan suffered a fracture of the eye socket and immediately lost vision in the affected eye. The coach also stated that the Brazilian is doing well and did not suffer more serious damage, but will undergo an evaluation with a specialist this week to determine the extent of the injury.
