One of Brazil's main highlights in last year's Contender Series, Lerryan Douglas failed to live up to expectations against Jammal Emmers and suffered a knockout in the first round. On Saturday night (22), he faced the experienced American at UFC Sacramento , who reached 10 knockout victories in professional MMA.
The Brazilian took the initiative and tried to work combinations of strikes, while Emmers used feints and constant movement to make it difficult for his opponent. Lerryan maintained his position in the center of the octagon and sought to take advantage of the American's attacks to find counter-attacks.

Despite trying to pressure and vary his attacks, 'Pistoleiro' had difficulty finding his opponent. With about a minute and a half left in the first round, Emmers connected with a jab followed by a straight punch that hit the Brazilian squarely. Lerryan went down, and the referee immediately stopped the fight, confirming the knockout.
