The duel between two of the main representatives of Brazilian women's MMA suffered an important change before PFL Tampa. Ketlen Vieira failed to make the featherweight (up to 65,8 kg) at the weigh-in this Friday (21) and, therefore, lost the chance to win the belt against Cris Cyborg this Saturday (22).
Ketlen Vieira weighed in at 69 kg, 3,2 kg over the category limit. With the new agreement, the fight will go ahead, but it will not be for the title, which will remain with the champion regardless of the result. Furthermore, part of the Manaus native's purse will be given to the veteran as compensation for the excess weight.

At 41 years old, Cyborg has accumulated historic achievements and is a champion in the UFC, Strikeforce, Invicta FC, Bellator, and PFL. Considered one of the greatest female fighters in MMA history, the Brazilian seeks to close another chapter of her career with a victory against Ketlen Vieira and, perhaps, a farewell in grand style.

“Today, when I went to make weight, I found out that Ketlen wouldn’t be able to make weight. Then my team talked to her, checked what weight she arrived at. I don’t know what happened. I believe the team and Dedé Pederneiras are very professional, I’m not here to judge. But she was a bantamweight, moved up to featherweight. She fought in May. And now she came in seven pounds over (the limit). I thought they were going to cancel the fight, but there was a conversation so that it wouldn’t be canceled, there was an agreement. That’s why I made weight. I’m very happy that the fight is going to happen. Several factors could have prevented it from happening, but it’s good that it worked out. Let’s go, Saturday is our day,” Cyborg told ESPN.
