UFC Sacramento: On a roll, Gregory Robocop headlines fight in new chance to break into the top 5 of the middleweight division

Gregory Robocop is experiencing the best moment of his career and has been rewarded. This Saturday (22), the Brazilian headlines UFC Sacramento , along with Anthony Hernandez , a clash of extreme importance for the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg). Both are in the top 10, aiming to break into the top 5. Incidentally, the Rondonian has been scheduled for the second time to fight in the main event and is aiming for a very different result.

In 2025, Robocop had the chance to take his career to the next level, but he ran into veteran Jared Cannonier . The athlete came close to knocking out the American, but couldn't finish the job, tired, and was knocked out in the fourth round. Since then, the Brazilian has recovered by racking up three consecutive wins, two by knockout, and has consolidated his place in the top 10 of the category, in tenth position. Now, Gregory faces Hernandez in his second main event fight to show that he has learned from the mistakes of his past experience.

And for this important fight, Robocop is at the peak of his confidence. Displaying immense power, the Brazilian showed no mercy to his compatriot Brunno Hulk , brutally knocking him out in just over a minute in March, avenging his knockout loss in 2023. On the other hand, Hernandez aims to recover. In his last fight in February, 'Fluffy', who had won eight fights in a row and was close to challenging for the division title, saw everything crumble when he was knocked out by Sean Strickland in the fourth round. Today, he is ranked number seven in the division.

If the main event of UFC Sacramento was already unmissable due to the aggressive style of Hernandez and Robocop and its importance to the middleweight division, it became even better because of the help both received in training. On one side, the Brazilian had Nassourdine Imavov , third in the division's ranking. On the other, the American had the reinforcement of his compatriot Strickland, champion and his nemesis.

Fans expect a real war to unfold. According to bookmakers, Hernandez is the favorite to win the fight, largely due to his enviable physical conditioning, frenetic pace, and constant pressure. Therefore, to surprise in the octagon, Robocop should use his power to strike his opponent's midsection, which is his weakness, and try to end the fight as soon as possible. Since he tends to tire from the third round onwards, and 'Fluffy' doesn't lose his stamina, a prolonged fight is bad for Gregory.
