At 37 years old, Alexander Volkanovski knows very well that he is at an advanced age to compete in MMA. Even so, the Australian remains relevant, performing at a high level and, not surprisingly, is the featherweight champion (up to 65,8 kg). In fact, 'The Great' returns to action in the main event of UFC 333, scheduled to take place on October 24th in Abu Dhabi (UAE), against the undefeated Movsar Evloev . Aware of this scenario, the veteran approaches his future in the sport realistically.

In an interview with '10 News', Volkanovski revealed the only possible condition for announcing his retirement from MMA. It's worth noting that the Australian has been dealing with constant rumors suggesting that his next fight will be his last.

However, the veteran, justifying his legendary status, appears and wins the competition. In any case, against the feared Russian, Volkanovski, who loves to compete, is a fan of fighting and comments on it, admits that a crushing defeat could end his career.

“If things go very wrong, that’s fine, it’s over. If things go very well, like last time, without damage, everything’s fine, we’ll continue. I face each fight as it comes, trying to be realistic, but I have no plans to retire now. The money is always good,” he said.
