In a video published by the 'Anatomy of a Fighter' channel, Khabib Nurmagomedov paid tribute to the Brazilian, acknowledging his career and highlighting Barboza's importance to MMA. The Russian also made a point of demonstrating his admiration for the veteran in an unusual way.

"The sport abandoned him a long time ago, but today he's abandoning the sport too. When you're 40 years old, you have to think about your family. Family is better than being beaten like that. But he's a legend of the sport," said Khabib Nurmagomedov.
