Arman Tsarukyan faces a major challenge at UFC 331. The Armenian fighter will face Mauricio Ruffy on September 19th in Los Angeles (USA), in a fight that could be decisive for his career in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). If he wins, the fighter revealed what his next step in the UFC might be.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani's YouTube channel last Monday (17), Tsarukyan revealed that he had received an indication from Hunter Campbell, UFC's business director, about what could happen if he beats the Brazilian. 'Batman' arrives at the confrontation with 10 wins and two losses in the organization and could get closer to a new fight for the category's belt.

“Yes (if you win this fight, you will face Gaethje). Yes (it was Hunter Campbell). Waiting for Gaethje was an option, but the best option is to fight, stay active and, above all, fight in Los Angeles. I need to build my name… I earn good money with this fight, which is also worth the number one contender spot,” stated Arman Tsarukyan.
The potential reward further increases the weight of the duel at UFC 331. If he beats Ruffy, the Armenian could take an important step towards another opportunity at the lightweight title. Before that, however, he will face a rising Brazilian, who arrives riding high after victories over Rafael Fiziev and Michael Chandler.
