Carlos Prates doesn't want distractions in his quest for the top of the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg). Last Saturday (15), the Brazilian was present at UFC 330 , an event held in Philadelphia (USA), watched from the VIP box the victory of champion Islam Makhachev against Ian Machado Garry , already promoted the possible fight and also met Michael Morales , his competitor, backstage. While the pair chatted and laughed at the event, in a video released by the ' Champions Collection' profile, Prates made a point of addressing a possible provocation made by Morales and called him. In the conversation, the Brazilian denied having any fear of facing the athlete and guaranteed that, if the UFC chooses him as his opponent, his defeat will be brutal.

However, the São Paulo native, ranked first in the category, made it clear that his focus is on challenging the feared Russian champion . Meanwhile, the Ecuadorian, number three in the rankings, reiterated his interest in facing Prates and guaranteed he is ready.

“If the guy has two arms, two legs, and a penis like me, I can fight him. He said I’m afraid of him? The guy said I’m scared of him? Hey, man, what’s up? That guy said you said I’m afraid to fight you. I’m not afraid to fight you. I’m the number one contender. So, I want to fight for the belt,” he said.

“The UFC never offers me a fight against you. If they did, of course, I would knock you out real quick, in the first round. So, don’t worry. You’re going to fight and I’m going to knock you out, but now wait. I’m going to get my belt and then we can fight. I’ve never been afraid to fight you. Don’t worry,” he concluded.
