Ian Machado Garry demonstrated how he views defeat to Islam Makhachev . The Chute Boxe fighter suffered a setback against the Russian at UFC 330 , held last Saturday (15), in Philadelphia (USA), but showed that he intends to use the result as a learning experience for the rest of his career.

On his Instagram, on Sunday (16), Garry posted a video reflecting on the impact of the setback and stated that he intends to turn the defeat into fuel for future opportunities. The Irishman also highlighted advice he received from Charles from the Bronx.

“I learned this from Charles, losing in this sport means nothing. What matters is how you recover. We didn't do anything that didn't work today, we just need to do more. We reached the top of the mountain and didn't get the victory. We're not going to stop. We're going to come back, we're going to try again,” declared Ian Machado Garry.

Despite the defeat, the Irishman remains among the top names in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg). Against Makhachev, Garry struggled to impose his game and was ultimately defeated by the champion, who defended his title for the first time in the category.

Now, the Chute Boxe fighter will have to begin his recovery and define his next steps in the UFC. Despite the setback, the athlete made it clear that he intends to continue pursuing his goal of returning to the top of the division.
